It's essential that kids and teenagers learn geography in school. Certainly it is necessary to learn the geography of one's own state and country, so they will become good members of society. However, it is also necessary to study about global geography as well, since they are going to be participants in today's ever-globalizing world. If they know nothing but their own country, what would happen if they are transferred to another country on business? They'd be at a strong disadvantage.

So I'm happy to say that in society today learning global geography is usually thought to be an essential course. In primary school, children learn about their own country through studying maps, and perhaps widen their knowledge of the world by studying one foreign culture. Then inmiddle school they typically study the history and culture of various continents and their major countries. This expands the student's horizons and understanding of their role as a global citizen. Then in high school they can undertake advanced study of the world, its demographics, its interconnecting history, and other important elements.

It's important for these young people to get good grades on their geography tests so they don't waste these precious opportunities. Teachers can make use of helpful tools like a blank world map to give out to the kids to help them study and prepare for tests. As a high school student, I found this type of map very useful for memorization and self-testing. I could simply look at the blank map and try to remember the answer, and if I couldn't remember I would then check a labelled map. This is a great way to know in advance how well you are going to do on a test.

Therefore it is my strong conviction that all teachers and students should make use of a blank world map in their studies to help them memorize things, so that they can better understand their world.
